Why your WhatsApp button matters more than your contact form
Malaysian customers don't fill out forms and wait. They message and expect a reply.
How Malaysians actually enquire
Across most SME categories — from island resorts to electrical contractors — the overwhelming majority of real enquiries in Malaysia come through WhatsApp, not a contact form buried in a website footer.
Design around that reality
A visible WhatsApp button, present on every page and not just the contact page, matches how customers actually want to reach you. Make it a direct link that opens a chat with a pre-filled message if possible — reduce the number of steps between interest and enquiry.
Don't abandon the form entirely
Some enquiries — RFQs, corporate clients, or people who prefer written detail — still want a form. Keep one, but don't make it the primary path when your customers have already told you, through behaviour, what they prefer.
The metric that matters
Track which channel actually converts. If WhatsApp is where 80% of real enquiries land, your site's design should reflect that — not what looks more "professional" on paper.
